Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions form part of the contract between you (The Hirer) and us Adam &Samantha Taylor T/A South Lakes Holidays (The Owner). It is important that you read them, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Check In Time is 4pm. You are welcome to arrive on site earlier than this but will not be able to access the caravan until 4pm. In order to ensure that our cleaner is able to carry out his/her work unhindered we ask that you do wait around the caravan. Haven have a carpark near the main complex which you can use.
Check out Time is 10am Please ensure that you leave at the required time. Beds should be stripped and placed into a suitable bag (pillowcase works well) for removal. Bins must be emptied and the caravan left in a clean condition, as it was when you began your holiday.
Booking Deposit To book your holiday a non-refundable deposit of £50 is required. If the holiday is less than a month away then the full balance of the hire is due for payment at that time.
Hire charge The balance of your hire charge will be required 1 month before your holiday commences. If the balance is not paid by this date your booking will be cancelled. All monies paid are non-refundable.
Payment methods We accept payment by bank transfer only for direct bookings. If you wish to pay by card you can use the online system at https://www.ukcaravans4hire.com/to-let-userid14089.html, though booking fees will be payable to UK Caravans 4 Hire which are outside of our control.
Play Passes. Play passes are not included in the caravan hire cost. If required, these may be purchased directly from Haven, subject to availability. We will register your arrival with Haven before your holiday begins and they will email you directly about passes. Our holidays are sold to you on a strictly accommodation-only basis. We cannot be held liable for any facilities on the park, or lack of.
NEW FOR 2023 Bookings for activities open 12 weeks before your stay and swimming slots 4-5 weeks before. To enable you to get good access to this we recommend you book your holiday well in advance. We are happy to register your arrival once deposit is paid so you can get the best chance of booking your chosen activities but please note that play passes are non-refundable so if you cancel your hire with us but have already booked and paid for play passes with Haven you will lose them. We offer this service as goodwill and offer no guarantee.
Keys On arrival the keys will be in a key safe located at the caravan. The code will be sent to you via WhatsApp or text message 24 hours before your holiday. At the end of your holiday you must return the key to the key safe. Lost keys will be charged for at £100 per set.
Occupancy The caravan may only be used by the persons listed on the booking form, maximum 6 people. The Hirer will be responsible for the entire party. Being a family park, we only accept bookings from family groups. We cannot accept bookings from young singles or all male/female parties.
Pets Dogs are very welcome in our caravan. For their own safety they must never be left alone in the caravan. Even on a cloudy day the temperatures inside can reach dangerous levels very quickly. Please keep all pets off the sofas and beds. We would encourage you to walk your dog away from the caravan where possible as children often play out on the grass next to it and urine only washes away with a decent downpour! Please clean up all mess.
Smoking is NOT permitted at all within the caravan or its doorways. Where our cleaner suspects that smoking has taken place we reserve the right to charge you £200 to cover additional cleaning costs.
Bedding is supplied for you but beds are not made up. Towels are not provided. A travel cot is available in the caravan but due to the nature of this we are not able to provide bedding. Please bring your own sheets, blankets, baby sleeping bags etc.
Use of the caravan The caravan must be left clean and tidy. Any malicious damage, cleaning costs incurred beyond the usual cleaning, signs of smoking, damage to furniture, or the accommodation must be paid for by the hirer and we will use all legal channels to reclaim costs of rectification. The caravan is our families pride and joy and we ask that you please treat it with respect. Please report any
damages – it is often a simple (and cheap) fix if we know about it in good time.
Behaviour. If, in our opinion (or our representative) or the park manager, any member of the party is guilty of conduct prejudicial to the wellbeing of others, The Owner or the park manager may re-take possession of the accommodation immediately, without compensation to The Hirer. Please remember that this is a family park.
Cancellation by owner. Very rarely we may have to cancel your booking due to situation beyond our control. We do cancel bookings when the balance payment is overdue. In the event of us cancelling your booking the following fees apply:
Your balance: Not overdue Fees due: Zero. Full refund.
Your balance: Overdue Fees due: £50 deposit
Our financial liability is restricted to the above, we do not pay for any incidental costs you may incur as the result of the cancellation.
Cancellation by customer If you have to cancel your holiday you must contact us via email, text, WhatsApp or call straightaway. The following fees will apply:
Cancellation more than 30 days before holiday - £50 deposit
Cancellation 30 days or less before the holiday - all monies paid to that point
Liability. We DO NOT accept liability for injury, loss or damage, suffered by any member of the party.
Insurance. We strongly recommend that you take out Holiday Insurance to cover accidents, losses, cancellations etc. These policies are available quite cheaply from most insurance brokers.
Covid Cancellation Policy Where the caravan park is shut due to coronavirus (covid-19) and your holiday cannot take place we will refund you In full. Please note that in the case of you or a party member being unable to travel due to covid (whether illness or isolation as a close contact) this policy will not cover you. You should ensure you have suitable holiday insurance to meet your
personal needs.
